Official Announcement – Project Delivery Group Awarded Construction Management Contract for Kanantik Belize.
As you may have heard from our recent press release, we are proud to announce that Project Delivery Group has recently been awarded the Construction Management Contract for Kanantik Belize. If you haven’t, take a moment to read the article that went out last week:
Project Delivery Group has a proven track record in Belize and are currently finishing the build out for Itz’ana in Placencia. While they are a US based construction management company that employs US building methodologies and standards, they are also a “local” construction management firm, employing Belizean contractors to provide construction services for local projects, contractors who are very aware of the building processes in Belize. This is of the utmost importance to us at Kanantik as we are committed to utilizing local labor and materials where at all possible while still delivering the highest quality available.
This appointment also spells great news to all of our owners because PDG will be able to provide owner representation to ensure a quality building experience and to also ensure that those who may not have as much knowledge on the workings in Belize are being treated fairly, getting the best prices and given realistic timeframes for each project. While you are not required to use PDG for the construction of your individual home, you would be hard pressed to find a development company more committed to quality than PDG and who is now also a stakeholder in the development.
Of course this means that our partnership with PDG will allow Kanantik to start moving forward more rapidly with the build out of the development. We are very excited to work hand in hand with them to bring the vision of Kanantik a reality.
For all questions related to home building, please email Jess Moran email@example.com to start the process.
Fast Growth for Belize’s Tourism Market.
On Wednesday, July 12th, the Belize Tourism Board (BTB) released the latest figures on overnight tourism arrivals for 2017. Once again, the BTB registers a positive trend for the first half of this year, maintaining a steady, brisk growth path. The latest statistics show that the month of April registered the highest overnight arrivals (24.2%) compared to the same month last year, followed closely by June, with a 10% growth. There was also an overall growth of 7.8% in tourism overnight arrivals for the second quarter of 2017. BTB states that this is a clear affirmation that Belize continues to attract an increasing number of travelers as a ‘must-visit’ destination.
The trend of overnight arrivals remained positive through the first six months of 2017, with 7.8% overall growth in overnight arrivals. Since June 2017 recorded a 10% growth, it had the highest arrival total for a June month in history, with over 37,600 overnight visitors. Over the past five years, overnight arrivals in June have equaled the figures seen in the high season month of January. BTB suggests that this trend is a possible expansion of the number of months that are traditionally recognized as high season months for tourism in Belize.
In June 2017, there were 13 cruise calls visiting Belize, which brought in 47,000 cruise passengers. Although the number of actual arrivals for June exceeded forecast arrivals, it did not reach the level of 2016. However, in the first half of the year, there has been an overall increase of 3.1% in total cruise passenger arrivals. Arrivals for 2017 includes visitors from both the seaports in Belize City as well as arrivals to Harvest Caye in the south.
These latest statistics not only provide a very positive outlook for tourism arrivals for the remainder of this year and beyond, but they also represent the successful efforts of the industry in marketing and promoting Belize as a growing, viable and attractive tourism destination.
Getting to Know Our Neighbors:
I am a California girl by birth and choice but now residing in Oregon while waiting to move ahead with plans to live in Kanantik with my older son, Scott, and as many family members and friends – everyone who will visit! I own a golf course lot, so I recently took up “the hardest game” I’ll ever love. I’m still not any good, but I’ve been blaming the long winter/bad weather on just how awful I really am. The days are turning into beautiful spring ones, so I look forward to being back on the driving range very soon. I wouldn’t call myself much of a sports buff, but love the Niners, Giants and Warriors because that’s what Bay Area folks do. I lived there about 26 years and still consider it to be home.
I love live theater and movies, concerts and most entertainment venues and will finally be attending a Neil Diamond concert at the end of July!!! Good thing both Neil and I made it through the 60’s and 70’s! Now we are 60’s and 70’s!
My most recent trip to Belize was in June, which I think makes my fourth visit; hard to keep track when they don’t let you keep calendars in the hammocks – plus Rodney fixes the best drinks that help you forget mundane things like that. My first visit was strictly because my oldest son insisted I come check it out. Reluctantly, I did. By the third day, while sitting on the porch of my palapa at 2 a.m. it hit me that I was experiencing paradise. If all works out the way we hope and dream it will, Kanantik will be my forever home.
We would like to thank Diane for sharing her Kanantik experience. If you’d like to be featured talking your experience buying, building, visiting or living at Kanantik, we’d love to hear from you. Drop a line to the Director of Client Communications, Jessica, at firstname.lastname@example.org.
